چکیده
Abstract Dense ceramics of Na3xLa2/3−xZrO3−δ with orthorhombic (Pnma) perovskite structure have been prepared by spark plasma sintering (SPS) to investigate their Na+ ion conducting behaviors combining crystal chemistry. Despite suppressed Na volatilization owing the SPS technique, component tends be partially lost during sintering, and consequently, chemical composition is limited a small range, 3x = 0.32–0.35, which favored under an equilibration secondary phases La2Zr2O7 pyrochlore ZrO2. A sample Na0.32La0.48ZrO2.9 exhibits enhanced bulk conductivity (7.2 × 10−5 S cm−1 at 350 °C) much lower activation energy (0.26 eV) as compared those observed in isostructural titanate-derivative Na3xLa2/3−xTiO3, indicating that expanded lattice Zr-substitution for Ti offers migration pathways wide enough ion.

Processing, Mechanical and Optical Properties of Additive-Free ZrC Ceramics Prepared by Spark Plasma Sintering
In the present study, nearly fully dense monolithic ZrC samples are produced and broadly characterized from microstructural, mechanical and optical points of view. Specifically, 98% dense products are obtained by Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) after 20 min dwell time at 1850 °C starting from powders preliminarily prepared by Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS) followed by 20 min bal...
متن کاملComparison of Creep Behavior in Alumina Based Ceramics Densified by Spark Plasma Sintering and Hot Pressing
Spark plasma sintering (SPS) method, as plasma activated sintering, is a method applicable for rapid sintering of metals and ceramics. Owing to the advantage of rapid heating, the alumina ceramics obtained by SPS have a grain size and density comparable to those of hot pressed ones. The increase of densification rate may be related to some difference in ion transport characteristics. This study...
